1.FM announced Economic Relief Package for “Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan”:-

·         FM Nirmala Sitharaman has announced the details of the Economic Relief Package for “Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan” for making India self-reliant.
·         Five pillars of this abhiyan are: Economy, Infrastructure, System, Vibrant Demography and Demand.
·         Under this, 15 different measures are taken into consideration: 6 for MSMEs, 3 for EPF, 2 for NBFCs, 2 for MFIs, 1 for discoms, 1 for real estate, 3 are tax related while the remaining one for contractors.
2. Vasudha Mishra appointed as UPSC Secretary:-
                                                                          

  • The government has also appointed Vasudha Mishra of the Telangana cadre as the new UPSC secretary after Rakesh Gupta.
  • In addition to this, Rajendra Kumar has been made DG of Employees’ State Insurance Corporation and Rajesh Ranjan as additional secretary, Department of higher education.
  • Also, K. Srinivas has been appointed as Establishment Officer (EO) in the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

3. Manoj Ahuja appointed as the new chairman of CBSE:-
                                

  • IAS Officer Manoj Ahuja has been appointed as the new Chairman of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
  • He took over Anita Karwal who has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Education and Literacy.
  • Government has made 19 appointments that were approved by Appointment Committee of the Cabinet.

4. V. Vidyavathi appointed as the Director General of ASI:-
  • V. Vidyavathi has been appointed as Director General of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
  • Vidyavathi is a 1991 batch Karnataka cadre officer, according to the order of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
  • She will be serving in the rank of Additional Secretary to the Government of India.
5. Global Nutrition Report 2020 released:-
                 

  • The Global Nutrition Report 2020 is a report card on the world's nutrition that is released independently.
  • The Global Nutrition Report was conceived following the first Nutrition for Growth Initiative Summit (N4G) in 2013.
  • As per the report, India is among 88 countries that are likely to miss global nutrition targets by 2025.
  • India is also the country with the highest rates of domestic inequalities in malnutrition.
6. Gujarat mandates digital payment for home delivery in Ahmedabad:-

                              
  • The Gujarat government made digital payment mandatory for all home delivery services in Ahmedabad.
  • This step has been taken by the state government to prevent the spread of COVID-19 through currency notes.
  • Cash On delivery (COD) option will not be available to the customers.
  • Apart from this, the state government has also issued a protocol involving the use of hand gloves, sanitation cap as well as sanitizer and Aarogya Setu app for the delivery person.
7. Tribal Affairs Minister holds video conference on “Tribal livelihoods and s
  • video conference was held by the Minister of Tribal Affairs, Shri Arjun Munda on “Tribal livelihoods and safety” in New Delhi.
  • The conference featured Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, State Ministers for Tribal Affairs, and state ministers for Forests from more than 20 states/UTs.
  • Shri Arjun Munda addressed the conference and commended the support given by the states by stepping up the procurement of Minor Forest Produce at the revised MSP.
8. “Mera Bhagalpur”and Lockdown ke Panne launched by BSCL:-
  • Bhagalpur Smart City Limited has been supporting the city administration in combating COVID 19 using various initiatives.
  • BSCL has launched Mera Bhagalpur mobile app for daily updates, measures, do’s and don’ts , list of doctors, emergency number, etc.
  • 'Lockdown Ke Panney' is a story telling series for sharing a new story based on various experiences of lock down period to connect with nature, improves bonding with family and understanding of Rich Indian Culture.

9. National Community based Sero-Survey for Covid-19 to be conducted:-
                          

  • The national community based Sero-survey for Covid-19 will be conducted in 69 randomly selected districts from 21 states.
  • This household level cross-sectional survey will cover 24,000 adults from districts categorized based on reported cases of Covid-19.
  • Indian Council of Medical Research in collaboration with Health and Family Welfare Ministry, National Centre for Disease Control is conducting this survey.
  • The objective is to estimate Covid-19 infection in Indians.
10. Power distribution companies to get emergency liquidity infusion:-
  • FM Nirmala Sitharaman announced a liquidity flow of 90,000 crore rupees to the PFCs and RECs in a relief to Power Distribution companies (DISCOMs).
  • Vivaad se Vishwas scheme has also been extended up to 31st December without obligation of any extra payment.
  • This amount will be used by DISCOMS to pay their dues to Transmission and Generation companies.
  • Further, CPSE GENCOs will give a rebate to DISCOMS as a relief towards their fixed charges.
11. CAPF canteen to sell only indigenous products:-
  • Home Ministry has decided that all the Central Armed Police Forces, CAPF canteens will now sell only indigenous products from 1st June 2020.
  • The step is taken in a move to go vocal for local and making our nation self-reliant.
  • After the move, total purchase value would be around 2800 crore rupees for the indigenous products.
12. Sania Mirza becomes 1st Indian to win Fed Cup Heart Award:-

  • Tennis ace Sania Mirza became the first Indian to win the Fed Cup Heart Award for her successful return to the court post motherhood.
  • Sania won the award for Asia/Oceania zone after securing a whopping 10,000 plus votes out of the total 16,985 cast for this year's three regional Group I nominees.
  • The Fed Cup Heart Award is an International Tennis Federation (ITF) initiative that was established in 2009 to recognise who represent their countries with distinction.
13ICCR launches song “United we Fight” to fight COVID-19:-

  • A musical creation titled “United we Fight” has been unveiled by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
  • It brings together composers, musicians and singers from across India to send a message of hope, joy, resilience, fighting spirit and never say die attitude spreading the essence of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’.
  • The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India dedicated the song to the whole world.
